Overwhelmed Choosing a Tow Vehicle
We're hoping to hit the road full-time this November. We don't have an RV or a vehicle to tow it with yet, but we need a new car soon, so we'd like to buy the tow vehicle now. We're just overwhelmed...

I suppose first thing to tackle is diesel vs gas. That is pounded out here all the time. Diesels do last longer and get better mileage but when it's repair time it's measured in thousands and not hundreds. My price range for tow vehicle was 10000 and I was able to buy an 08 dually with v10 vs much older diesels. Right choice ? I dont know.
With kids in booster seats a van really sounds good. Newer Chevy van with 6.0 gas and three quarter to one ton sounds great to me. I only say that because fords with v10 are hard to find and I don't think the 5.4 tows well.
Fifth wheel aren't that much more and tow better but then the van is out.
