Same with my Tundra. When I bought my camper the guy took it off his F250 and we put it on the Tundra. He was shocked at how little it squatted, less than his truck. I keep it as light as possible but it stops and corners fine with just some air bags. Gone through some passes, done some Bat-stops. Toyotas are overbuilt. However, before I begin annual trips up the Alcan, next year, I'm going to a one ton. Seen what those frost heaves do to vehicles.
A suggestion on those frost heaves: Canada puts tiny little red flags on the shoulder before the craters they call frost heaves. Watch for them and you'll be ok. Just expect to slow down and take more time between Whitehorse and Beaver Creek and you'll be ok. You sure don't need a 1 ton.
I've been up and down the Alcan several times with my Tundra and TC. There's no more beautiful place.
