It may not be true in ANY cases. Small claims court is an option. When, Palamino, in this case publishes specs, they are responsible for them. When my camper was new, it was weighed and certified as it came off the assembly floor. So I have an accurate weight, and I've checked that. Seems it should be a requirement that all of them be treated that way, big government has it's place. If it is a comfort realize that truck makers leave some wiggle room in their specs, so a axle rated for say 5000lbs can handle quite a bit more than that...now put a lot more on it and hit some big bumps, you have a problem. No doubt better to have more truck than you need though, because you never know when you will need it.
