It took a couple of trips for my wife to realize the advantages of the TC was an advantage over the comforts of our FW.
In MY case, it was Ed who had been saying "I'm not sure about taking the TC out west.." - followed by a whole litany of reasons why. But I convinced him to camp with our family several weeks before the big trip - and he was startled by how "roomy" the camper really was; and agreed to take it on the trip to the west coast. As the trip has progressed, some of his other reasons have been deflated:
"We'll get awful mileage". The mighty Ram 1500 is getting 15-17 mpg
"The ride will be worse" - this time, I loaded a lot more weight at the front of the TC and it rides like the camper isn't there.
"We won't be able to get into tight spaces" - we have, repeatedly.
So he's basically gone from thinking my TC is "something silly" - to the most awesome way to travel! Granted, I haven't convinced him that a brand new Four Wheel Grandby or an Outfitter Apex is exactly what we need now, but I'm working on that....LOL!
