The point is, "Any" change in the geometry of hitch implementation results in a change. Sometimes it is noticeable, often not. Sometimes it is beneficial, sometimes not. Leverage is still leverage and something one can disregard if they are so inclined, but it is still a factor. I happen to believe a change of 25% is worth thinking about. I used "double" as it makes it easier for the non-engineers to visualize.
If people look at the charts and calculations on the website I posted, they will understand what is going on with lengthening the distance from the ball to the tow vehicle a little better.
