Pickup trucks headlights evaluated
Not HD trucks unfortunately: Pickup Mag I'll say that my F350 headlights are awful. I added an LED lightbar to the front to compensate. But its use is limited.

The 2016 GM half-tons have HIDs on all (or at least most) trucks. The new HIDs are fantastic from what I have read, despite what the article said.
The 2015.5 GMC HD have projector lenses but halogen bulb with a shutter. Are you sure the 2016 isn't the same or did they update to HID? If so that would be great.
I have been told the 2016 GMC HDs all have HID lighting in them. I cannot confirm as I have a Chevy with the projector/halogen set-up.
