So what's the criteria for poor headlight performance that everyone is using?
I can't really say I've ever had a "bad" set of headlights... My 2003 Chevy was probably the best but everyone kept flashing me all the time even though I was on low beams. The lights were aimed as low as they could be.
Range on my signature truck is lacking but that's mostly because of the 3-4" of rake due to the heavy rear suspension. It's awesome loaded.
My 2015 Chevy's lights are better but not spectacularly better like some are alluding... So, what's the criteria?
I have an 85 Camaro IROCZ that I bought new. I installed Hella headlights in it back then. 160 watt bulbs, and custom wiring with relays. The low beams are far better that most cars high beams, yet they throw a VERY defined low pattern with a sharp cutoff to keep the light out of oncoming traffics eyes... I have never been flashed when on low beams... The High beams are unbelievable.
This is with the best technology that 1985 had to offer. I am sure it can be bested with todays lights. Maybe not so much in clarity as it is hard to imagine them being better, but in lower power requirement for sure.
