Do you know if Ram/Cummins finally fixed the BS fake oil gauge that started in 2003? If not, why put fake oil pressure on the EVIC. (based on 35 psi with an oil temp of 183° and coolant at 176° I am guessing it's still fake :M)
I had a 2006 Ram 3500, and honestly do not recall details about the oil pressure gauge on that one.
Now on my new Ram (2014 Cummins/Aisin to save reading time) my gauges seem to work just fine. Oil pressure changes as vehicle warms up. Runs in the 50 PSI range when cruising on highway warm, and will usually go down to the low 30's when idling warm. Cold start pressure is higher than the 30 something PSI at warm idle, possibly in the 50PSI range, but right now I do not recall what it shows.
So it is not a constant number.
On the 06 the gauge moved, but it was all based on an algorithm. The only thing on the block was a 6 psi switch.
Based on those pressures you are seeing it doesn't appear to have changed. Why they go to the trouble of having two oil pressure readouts that are fake is beyond me.
Warm idle should be 15-20, cruising will be 60-65 and 55-65 towing. It may drop to 45-50 towing heavy up a grade. Cold pressure should peak around 85.
