Plastic trim

I cleaned the roof today and it came out good, paint came right off. :h

It cleaned up nicely and I can really see the good and bad spots on the sealer. Even the antenna that the best of 1991 had to offer cleaned up nice.

I'm going to reseal everything but want to get the next project moving forward. I was looking at all of the plastic snap in seals and thinking they are shot. The black ones in the pictures they ran screws into it. I'm thinking its not designed to be installed this way. Is there a particular brand that you would recommend that installs easier and or holds up better then others?

Also, the picture of the window with the rubber seal coming out. Is this a parts I can get from a camper place or something I need to get from a auto glass type place?

The white plastic C channel seems to be ok so I was going to hold off on replacing it for now unless you tell me different.

Oregon, I just ended up using a product called Tiger seal. Its a rubber/urethane compound applied with a caulk gun. Totally safe to use in NJ as it says it only causes cancer in CA :? Seems to be working well, if I ever have to get it off then I'm going to regret using it.

    Thanks everyone!

  • The channel that holds the trim should be fine. Just make sure it has good caulking.
