Your fuel tank can only hold so much and there isn't going to be a major difference(i.e. more than 1 gallon) from one fill up to the unless you were filling up on a huge incline difference from the last fill up or the pump is off. Either one is highly unlikely statistically. Even if you did put a half a gallon difference (which is unlikely) then it will only alter the result by .3 mpg and even less if you were towing since the less fuel mileage you get the less difference it makes.
And no, the computer does not physically measure fuel used. It uses an algorithm with readings from multiple sensors to determine the estimated fuel used with miles traveled.

Yes I read what you wrote, but that should be a given for a diesel owner so it is kind of a moot point since he is not actually filling up his tank. I am talking about when you actually fill your tank which slowly filling and pumping again after it clicks should be done every time. From all the people I see just filling to the first click at gas stations.... Many are ignorant to this fact. It is likely that some of them will read this thread and learn something new.
It doesn't help that gas stations are littered with signs warning everyone NOT to top off their tanks.

I know you didn't, and I wasn't talking about that. I was referring to the "Ford is perfect and better in every way and everything I have is the better than anyone else's" mentality that you and another Ram owner here has about Ram and Cummins products(you know who I referring to). I can understand liking a brand, but it comes off as a bit too fanboyish especially when it gets to the point when all logic and rational goes out the window. Thinking that a truck make is perfect in every way is irrational. Only focusing on the negatives of somethings else while turning a blind eye to the negatives of what you have is irrational.
I am with you on liking what you got because you should be proud of what you have earned, but I am against you when you want to piss on what everyone else has just because it is not a Ford or just because it is a Cummins. I agree with you up until you get to that point.
