Update: I went to the bank and they confirmed it's fraudulent and escalated the case and are looking into it. Sent an e-mail asking Mr. Frost for more information, no response yet. The part that scares me is that even though I didn't give him the address, he does have my name (needed it to write the check) so could easily use the internet to find addresses associated with me/family. Since he was going to have some shady "shipping company" stop by to take my trailer, this scares the hell out of me.
Almost went straight to the police station after the bank, but decided to wait to see what the bank says and for the slim chance that Mr. Frost replies with the requested information. If he does and it is a scam, perhaps that information could be used to help crack down on the scammers and protect others in the future.
Still holding out hope for that <0.0001% chance this is legit. Sigh.. I know.
Thanks again guys.
