Yes you are correct as long as the 2nd tank valve is open. You should always open both to let the auto changeover valve work.
Also, I 2nd the post about opening cupboard doors in the kitchen and bathroom to allow warm air to enter those areas. Otherwise you risk freezing lines there even if you leave the heat on.
Don't forget to bring in your water hose unless you enjoy waiting for it to thaw before you can use any water. Might want to put some in the fresh water tank if the temps are supposed to remain below freezing for any long length of time. That way you can use your pump and will have water available for toilet flushing, coffee making, cooking, etc.
