We have the Blue Ox immobilizer on ours and I am not going to re&re that all the time. Our truck is on the longer side due to the 8' bed and supercab. I try and find two end to end stalls and overlap one or I back into a spot if the rear can extend/overhang into a landscaped area. It can be a royal PITA sometimes getting into a stall because they seem to make way too many small car stalls these days.
True story on leaving a hitch on: DW has a co-worker that has a pickup with a hitch she uses for her horse trailer. She worked really late one night and there was only one other car there in the covered lot when she went to leave and she knew who the owner was. She backed up and then drove off only to remember forgetting something so she circled the building and went back. She noticed that the other car was not there and she thought "huh, that's weird, ***** was working away when I left". She got out to run back into the building only to notice that she had backed into the car and it was stuck on her hitch!! She apparently drove around the block not even noticing it was there. Oops...
