Travel trailer is without a doubt nicer when traveling. There is so much more floor space. The 3x4' floor area of a popup gets covered in shoes and coolers quick! A TT is so much quieter inside that you can sleep regardless of what is happening outside (noisy campers, rain, etc.). And packing a TT is so much easier then popup.
There really isn't any comparison.
Boy, so hard to keep this discussion on topic. :R From the OP's original post ...
"not looking for the pros and cons. been there done that. I am thinking from a maintenance and longevity point of view. seems to me grooving up with popups we didn't do much to it and they lasted for years and years."
What he's looking for is commentary on how the long term value of a used popup vs a used travel trailer plays out, and as I've stated there's just no contest - the popup wins hands down. Hey, I've BTDT too and now camp in a travel trailer for all the obvious reasons but that doesn't change my view that a used popup in nice condition is relatively easy to find, much easier than a TT, easier to maintain, and represents a much better return on investment, heck even if it just sits there, gets used little, and is eventually sold for almost what a person paid for it in the first place! I've BTDT too. :)
Good thing you're here to be the thread nanny for OP. :R
