popup vs travel trailer

not looking for the pros and cons. been there done that. I am thinking from a maintenance and longevity point of view. seems to me grooving up with popups we didn't do much to it and they lasted for years and years.

only 2 or 3 seams to seal, low and easy to get to they can be sealed often without spending much or working hard

I see 30+ year old pop ups that function as new. rare to find a travel trailer much older than 6 or 7 years that doesn't have some kind of major problem.

  • Seems obvious to me - if you want to enjoy the comforts offered by camping in a travel trailer rather than a popup the maintenance and costs involved in owning such a trailer are going to be exponentially greater. It's MUCH easier to justify owning a popup that may only get used a few times each season and the rest of the time just sit there than a travel trailer that over it's lifespan will cost it's owner a considerable amount, whether used often or rarely at all.
