Porsche sets new Towing record around the Nurburing

I never knew Porsche once built tractors. And, I never thought of a Porsche as a tow vehicle.
As usual, I learned something on the forum. Thanks.

"The new record – which stands because no one has towed a tractor around the Nurburgring – now stands at a respectable 12 minutes and six seconds."

This sure seems like a complete waste of time... oh, Porsche can TOW too (yes, 1.5 tons, so 3000 lbs?)

Next we should have Mclaren tow a boat around the Nurburgring.

It's interesting, but in my mind really has nothing to do with real world use.

I assume you mean the "Grand Tour" as Top Gear USA isn't doing so well...isn't on the air at least right now.

Top Gear America - well, I'm not enthralled either.

Top Gear Australia I could never get and I wasn't going to buy it.

I would think Grand Tour could do something like that with their track, considering they raced "caravans" before. lol

Thats faster than I can get around it in just a sports car. Of course I'm talking about my Playstation and the Grand Turismo game and a few brushes with walls that would end a real run, lol. I may have to dig that thing out and try again.

To begin with Porsche is pronounced Por...shaa.

Next, I've known that there was a Porsche tractor for decades. It was a diesel and Road & Track magazine did a spoof test of one, many years ago, as part of their April fools series in their April edition.

I'm certain North Americans knew about the Porsche tractor before Australians did.

I do wonder why anyone would race around a track, with a Porsche car towing a trailer ?
