Potable Water connection bigger than Hose

So, I buy a 2006 Wildwood LE (Forest River) and get it in place. I go to put some potable water in the tank and the connection is too big for the potable water hose (from Wal-Mart)?!? I tried pouring water in, but some or a lot of it flows right back out.

How do I get water into my potable water tank?? What kind of connection is there? Is there a special funnel or what?

( I suspect I am just missing something... )

and the plastic hose will not come off and fall off into tank, and the other end at the threaded hose fitting is to big to fall past the water fill opening, so no worry's. That is what works best for me.

Almost forgot... but then again you could die a painful death by using anything other than a "food grade" hose, so be careful if you have any food police around. :B

This is the answer, it fits in the opening and the water goes in without burping and with the attached valve you can open it slowly and increase the flow as needed. Get one, you won't be sorry
  • I've found if i just stick the end of the hose in there, and trickle the water in it works fine (but slow). If I fill much faster I get water shooting out the vent after a bit.

  • you should have a hose sized female fitting someplace. you are trying to put water into the fresh water gravity fill opening.
