I seemed close enough and the trailer pulls well, handles well, does not sway or fish tail and stops well. I will eventually run it over the scales but I am not yet finished tweaking the “must have” load.
When I first weighed my combo 12 years ago, the trailer axle weight was #3800.. The last time I weighed it (in July 2014) it was #4500... :)
I've done "mods" to the trailer that has added weight too, but I know I've added more junk over the years! :) But, it's stuff I want to have, so it's in the trailer, plain and simple.. :)
That's why I didn't buy a TT with a "DRY WEIGHT" that was even close to the trucks "TOW RATING".. :) I knew I would load it up to it's max, so that's why I shopped by the trailers GVWR.. Other's don't pack very much, so they can get more trailer because of it.. That's great, as everyone "camps" they way they want to and that's the way it should be.. :)
