Sorry, but that would make it even harder to raise up the bars with the chains. They are all do-able with a manual jack but the power one just makes it easier. If you are strong enough and/or young enough you do not even need to use the jack at all. Just use your arms and the pipe - and be careful.

I bought the 4500lb Husky Brute and love it!!! Not having to crank the trailer and truck up to put on the weight distribution bars in 100 degrees heat anymore is a wonderful feeling. Best $$ i ever spent!

I have a Barker 3,500 lbs with 24" lift. Purchased in 2012. Price varies, search internet. I purchased mine from PPL in Houston.

I have the Husky Brute. Has been great. Had a small issue with it and Husky just sent me a new jack - no questions asked. Awesome service.

I have a Husky branded HB3000 model and it's one of the best upgrades I've made to my TT. It makes putting the WDH bars on so much easier.

I had an ultra fab 4000 and loved it. It was also an eBay refurb special. Just let the motor stop compleatly before you change directions.

I also read about the Barker and the Atwood being front runners but our ultrafab performed flawlessly.

I loved having a power tongue jack. It changed my experience with TT's totally, took all the work out of hitching and Un hitching.

I have been doing some research on the web and the Barker seems like the front runner.

I will still look around a bit though. Don't see doing any trips until the weather turns anyway.

I use an UltraFab 3500. It has been a great unit and was cheap

I have used my Barker 3500 on 3 different TT. I bought a ultra-fab for an other TT and it works fine other then the light was broke when I took it out of the box. As others have said let the jack come to a complete stop before changing direction and keep a box of fuses for when you don't.
