Yes, they get bigger because they are generating power suitable to the task.
If you are worried about cost, skip the overpriced hondas. For less than the price of a 2000w honda we got a 4500w champion dual fuel electric start. No need to rewire the air/con and then still have to hope it will start then the supposedly quiet generator is screaming trying to make enough watts to keep it running while the big generator is humming quietly barely above idle.
