pre-oiler for engine??

Was told that this device helps eliminate engine wear at startup. Dont really have any more info, but it sounds like a good idea. Turn the key and oil is pumped to cylinders right before engine cranks over. Anybody have any info, ever hear of this? Wish I had more info to give out. Thanks in advance.

It's a good concept but... It only lubricates areas such as the crankshaft bearings that use pressurized oil. A lot of parts rely on splash lubrication. Under normal conditions this is fine as they all wear out at about the same time. So saving just some of the parts by preoiling isn't really cost effective. Now in super cold areas, preoiling along with a bock heater can be a good thing.
