Preventive maintenance F150 5.0

I have a 2011 F150 with the 5.0 engine with about 55,000 miles. We will drive more than 8000 miles this summer coast to coast with our travel trailer. What would be your recommandations about preventive maintenance?
Thanks
  • I bought my TT when my prior truck had about 60k miles. I flushed all the fluids, coolant, oil, trans, differentials.

What I was thinking, my stuff is ready to hit the road right now. :h
  • The owners manual outlines all the maintenance that needs to be performed.
  • Do not forget the proper service intervals for the transmission and differential. Transmission especially.
  • I'd have the bearings and brakes checked on the trailer. Do the same on the truck. How are the tires on the truck? Fresh fluids on the truck of course.

While on the road, carry a good set of tools, portable 12v air compressor and whatever else you feel comfortable taking and using.. Or have a good road service plan.. ;) Oh, a Visa or MC credit card for those unexpected expenses that will always pop up..

Take your time, enjoy the drive between destinations and have fun! :)

  • Follow the owner's manual. My concern would be fresh coolant and fresh engine oil.
