Was thinking about getting a new F-150 XLT EB Crewcab (thinking didn't last very long). Wow, well over $50K for a mid-optioned 1/2 ton truck, to me that's crazy. I brought a loaded V8 XLT in 2010 and it was only $24K. Cannot in any way justify that much money in a truck, unless a diesel HD. Oh well, my 2500 gas Chevy, which was nearly $10K less than the XLT 2 years ago, lousy gas mileage and all, will do just fine.
Umm... I guess you just "woke up"?
Yeah, EB add significant up charge, Crewcab adds significant up charge, "max payload" comes at a significant up charge (if you don't get a max payload your F150 will only have about 1500-1600 lbs of payload), all aluminum body does not come cheap either..
F150 is marketed for the boulevard queen folks and as such it has ALWAYS cost MORE.. (shhh, its a "secret")..
Price a F250 XLT with a 6.2 and you notice that it is OFTEN LESS than a F150.. Sure, it isn't quite as soft of ride and YES it doesn't get 18 MPG empty.. BUT the EB F150 does not get any substantially better mileage when towing when compared to F250/350 with 6.2..
My nicely equipped 2013 F250 super cab with 6.2 cost me just about $40K out the door with no trade in.. And best of all, I didn't have to buy max payload to get 3415 lbs worth of payload (TWICE as much as a F150 with max payload)..
