Do you use any kind of a lubricant on the hitch ball?

I use a dab of white lithium grease. It works well, and lasts a long time.
And; I would rather have the stain on my jeans than spend another hour with a hammer and pry bar to get the coupler to open. That was a really bad way to spend my camping time.
