Problem with reico Titan jack

Not sure if I am doing something wrong since new with truck camper. I was putting truck camper back on truck I lowered all jacks at once. The front passenger jack just kept on clicking and wasn't lowering camper. I finally got it to work. Not sure if I did something wrong or is it a problem.
Thanks
Dennis
  • Yah, have to watch them as you pull'em up and put'em down.
The "Clicking" in my experience has been due to they've hit their max length or pulled in, i.e. can't go any further.
Solution: Back it off a little, "..reversed thrust Scotty"

I've been able to back'em off as soon as I hear the click but best practice is to either "Mark Perma Pen"? or figure 3" when up. There's a measurement on the jacks when extended, but hard to read. Just use the Red Blocks to keep it from extending too much..

I hope that helps as that's what I've done with the clicking...

Also, FYI, after awhile the remote (assuming you have one) will stop or start to intermittently work, just change out the battery. It's a special one so get several, should be at the local stores, Walmart etc..

    cheers..
  • fpoole is right on, the clicking is due to being over extended, you can also over retract. I've had to take a ratchet and manually turn the jack a little to free it up once.
  • If your jack is set at an angle, it may be binding in the tube. You can usually straighten it out by lowering the far opposite corner if you do not have enough cribbing to put under the camper.
  • Now that I have more info the next time I take it on and of this info should help
  • Also... as side note.. Wires... Pin Plug from jack to camper, usually white

If you accidently bend the wiring pins, like pulling something out against it and it knocks the pin and bends it, it can cause the jack to not work, obviously.

    But, wait, there's more.... sigh.

You can't just replace the wired cord... I thought just from the top of jack to the camper, according to dealer and jack company, you have to REPLACE the WHOLE jack.. Pfffttt..... WTH?

I just cut off the end an found a new pin plug, spliced and replaced the end.
Works just fine... but never really thought that bending the pin off would do that and that the remedy was to get a whole new jack..
    just didn't make sense...

    hope that helps too...
    It's always sumpt'n eh?
