I would go with comfort. The big question is will you be able to use it with a level of comfort so as to not make you hate being in it. Also, the smaller the trailer the more difficult it is to back up, a shorter distance from hitch to wheels makes the trailer react more quickly to any steering input than a longer trailer does. If you stay under the limits of your TV then don't be afraid to go with the bigger and heavier one. Don't be loading it with stuff you will never use is all. I agree that you will not save that much on gas between the 2 trailers. Towing is towing no matter what and gas mileage will go down no matter which trailer you pull. Accept that and just enjoy camping. Imagine the 2 of you being stuck in each trailer for 3 straight days then decide.
