Propane regulator line o ring leak

Hi all...I bought a Jayco Jayflight 1 year ago and while de-winterizing this year i notice the smell of propane around my tanks after hooking them back up. I was quickly able to identify the leak at the outer O ring near the tank fitting. The O ring is cracked and not making a seal. Is it possible to replace this O ring or would it be better to use some sort of epoxy or glue to seal this fitting. Please see picture. If image does not appear. Right click on it and open it in new tab.

That is a failed hose, it needs to be replaced.

    Yup!

OP, please do not try and seal that hose, replace it.
  • Or go to a propane dealer and replace the One ring.
  • First, welcome to the Forum.
and - this is not a duct tape issue. As already stated, replace the hose. Very inexpensive (under $20), very easy to do and very safe. Don't mess with it. While you are at it,I'd probably replace both hoses if you have 2 tanks.

  • First off.....

What your red line is pointing to is the 'thermal bushing' not an O-ring

    Secondly....

Those pigtail assemblies are NOT serviceable.
When they break/leak/fail you replace because you are dealing with a flammable product.

    Just replace it.
And buy one with a GREEN ACME nut.......not a BLACK one or a RED one.
Green Nut flow rating matches your LP Reg flow rating and RV appliances demands

Black has flow rating of 100K BTU/hr
Green has flow rating of 250K BTU/hr
Red has a flow rating of 400K BTU/hr
