propane regulator

When I went through PDI the guy said my regulator didn't automatically switch, I was thinking that all the new trailers would have one? Thanks

That's a very nice rig I would think it would come with an automatic switchover regulator, handy device to be sure. For those that oppose having an auto-switchover for their propane tanks, simply leave second tank valve in off position and when you run out of propane in first tank no changeover occurs. I do this during the warmer months but when we camp in frigid temps I utilize auto changeover as I prefer not run out of propane overnight.

This. I like to know when one runs out also, but I don't want to find out when I'm camping in 12 degree weather. If you're not worried about that, then it really doesn't matter.
  • Mine is auto if you want it, or manual if you want it. So far I've stuck with manual. That way I know when one is empty, and I can make the switch, and still have propane until I can get refilled! Sure beats running out, and not having a backup. Course you could have a 20lb tank nearby for an emergency.

I use the tanks as a primary and a secondary. I use the primary most of the time and only switch to the secondary for a short period of time until I get the primary refilled.

    x2 on that

  • No, There still rigs that come with single regulators.
I am surprised as your new rig didn't come with an auto switch over. Might want to call factory. Don't trust the dealer!
