I replaced a pigtail, about 18-20.00.... then found out when I took the tank to the LP place, it was the gauge (?) on the tank which was bad. The cost to fix that was about the same as buying a new tank. He tested the valve on the tank with the pink LP stuff (I have used just soapy water..) and it was bubbling bad. So, might want to test that valve first (with the pigtail disconnected) before you buy a new pigtail?
