Between the two I'd take the Ford although there were some things I didn't like when I was shopping (CP4, flexy chassis and cheap looking interior in the lower trim levels). But on the plus side you fantastic power delivery, a proven truck platform and the best tow mirrors available.
My negatives on the GM trucks were the CP4 pump, the IFS setup and the vulnerable DEF tank location. Of the three it was my third choice but I'm nitpicking a bit here cause they're all good trucks.
