In my experience the IFS of a Chevy truck offers a much better ride and better handling than the solid front axle of the Ford. For some reason a lot of people knock the IFS as being weak but I've had it in 4 construction vehicles and my father has had it in 4 farm vehicles. I think there have been 2 CV joints replaced between the two of us in the last 23 years.
Both engines use the same CP4 pump. Chevy seems to be willing to repair theirs under warranty. I hear a lot of stories about Ford not doing it and blaming the customer.
I've had nothing but good results with Chevy trucks. Most of my experience with Fords were the 6.0 diesels. Based on that I'll take the Chevy every time. My 2015 Chevy 3500 at work has been perfect now for 16,000 miles of hard work. But, it's a gas engine.
