I guess the trucks we leased out to construction company's never took them off the highways and Im sure logging trucks never saw anything but highway. Did I mention I had a trucking Co. in the early eightys? Just so you know.Bird Freak wrote:
I think they are both good trucks. Chose what suits you best. Some bs here from the ram boys but they push their brand on everyone. Is the C channel frame outdated? Not really. Class 8 trucks still use them hauling 80K pounds for millions of miles but the pick up boys seem to go with the trend stiffer is better. Have some cp4 pumps been denied warranty from Ford? yes. Should they have been? I don't know, not my truck and I was not involved as many of the other Ford hating Fiat boys here.
Only real experience I have with these two brands is I have 2 2015 F350's running out of my shop. Both have over 200K miles with no problems at all. I know of 3 Chevys running that have had no issues either but don't have that kind of mileage yet.
Pick the one that fits your butt the best and go for it.
Just so you'll know, a class 8 truck is not built and advertised as an off road vehicle. Also if you look at how a class 8 truck is put together, they are designed to twist because they don't have the suspension flexibility of a pick-up and their body panels are designed to accommodate the flex of the frame. Apple vs Orange.
