The best thing you could do is load it all up and then go to a scale. Then you can check the tire manufacturers site for the correct pressure for your weight.

It seems like underinflation would invite excessive heat and sway, while full inflation might roughen the ride unnecessarily, but that's a safer way to go. My GMC TPMS alerts at a higher pressure than that for E tires.
Yea, but I dont think they would be underinflated for his truck. The 1500 is considerably lighter than the HD trucks that normally use LT's.
I think I would go 50 front and 60 rear when towing. If not towing he could probably go down to around 40 to 45 in back.
Even my 3500 only calls for 45 in back if running empty.
