I still don't understand why GM makes the Chevy and GMC pickup trucks under 2 different names still at this day.I figured years ago when they restructured and dumped ponitac they would have done the same with either the Chevy trucks or the GMC's.
Them having both would be like Ford coming out with a FMC pickup line and only changing the badging everywhere on the truck...I just don't get it...
It goes back to the 1960's when GM wanted a way to sell pickups at pontiac, buick, olds, cadillac dealers. So, along came GMC.
Today GMC is besides somewhat different look, GMC no longer has the "work truck" version that Chevy has, and until a few years ago, the Denali was more packed with stuff than the top chevy, but now chevy has the high country, pretty much identical to a Denali.
Our 2004.5 I went chevy because I like the looks better, for our 2015 I liked the GMC looks and trim better and the High country interior color choices I didn't care for and GMC had the nice metallic blue paint that Chevy didn't offer. But IIRC Chevy had a nicer metallic red.
