Pulling a 32ft

i am a newbie and bought keyston sprinter 316bik, the overall length is 35.6. i have not had any problems at all pulling it, only difficulty is getting into some of the wooded pull thru spots but i would not trade it for anything shorter. recently pulled it in ozark mountains and did not have any issues whatsoever.

We have a 34ft TT for weekend and extended weekends/holidays. Do not understand your comment "don't want to be limited on the distance we can travel". How does length effect the distance you can travel. We sometimes tow 2500km and sometimes 20km. Length makes no difference. You will not even notice another 5ft.

I have a 32.5 Jay Co Eagle that we have pulled twice and I can tell you that it was scary without the WD Anti-sway hitch. So I got a Centerline unit and it stays put real well. I am using a GMC 3/4 ton crew cab pickup.

I have pondered the same OP (except for the distance thing???) but what continues to hold me back getting a longer TT is you are more limited on campsite locations with longer trailers.

My wife and I thought we would be a little more limited in the places we could go in the USFS land but as it turns out that it doesn't make much difference. We use our new trailer the same as we did the old for weekends mostly and some extended weekends.

I pull a 34' forest river Aviator of about 8,000 lbs. empty without a W/D hitch, but than I am towing it behind a 2012 F350 Dually diesel, don't even notice it back there.

Thanks by distances I meant crosswinds, swaying things like that. I wouldn't even consider pulling without a distribution hitch. I use an Expedition to tow with.

In January we went from a 22FB (27') to the 27RLSS (32'). The new tt is also about 3K lbs. heavier. We have driven it to Florida and back, plus numerous local trips. The length while pulling has made no difference on the highways and roads we have been on. The crosswinds are not any worse, so far, even on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Backing into sites isn't any harder, it just takes an adjustment (your back end behind the wheels is a little further away). There are a few sites we can no longer get into that we loved, and a FS campground or two, but for the most part, there really isn't much of a change.

If getting the longer TT is what you really want, I tow a similar sized rig and don't think the extra 5 feet is much to worry about, although I have no idea how limiting your TV will be with the added length.

I upgraded from a 21ft to my current trailer which is a little over 35ft. I can certainly feel the weight difference but not necessarily the length. When driving down the road it feels very much the same as the shorter trailer in terms of length. You have to be more watchful when making a turn but overall it's not too bad.

My biggest obstacle was turning into my yard. I have a slight incline into my yard where I store the camper. The shorter 21ft camper made the turn with no problems. The new camper would drag the back end on the road so I had to regrade my entrance. Now I don't drag but it does get close to the ground in the back. That is honestly the only place I've had a problem with the added length.

I love the length when it's raining and everyone is inside. I camp with a group of people and we often hang out in my camper after dinner. Even with 10 people in there we still have room to move around. Again, the length is not as much of an issue as the weight. Make sure you have a vehicle that is capable of handling the weight and add a good hitch and you'll be all set. My Excursion handles the weight pretty well.
