OK I have more information now. the camper weighs 7,700lbs. My truck is a 99 Dodge Ram 3/4 ton 5.9L engine with a max towing capacity of 8,400lbs. It is a crew cab with a full size bed, 8,800lbs gross vehicle weight. It has 92,000 miles on it. What do you think? Am I OK or is this pushing the max a little too close? Are the manufactures conservative when they list those specs? I did have transmission trouble in 2006 and I had it rebuilt. I saw the camper tonight and did not see anything that scared me away.
