A friend just bought a 26' 6700# pull behind. His truck is to small to tow so I am towing it with my 08 F-350 SW.Question is this, we are towing it about 75 miles to there land where it will sit permanently. Can I tow without a WD hitch?

No, you probably don't need it. I tow a 7500 lb TT with a 2004 Ram Cummins. I have a WDH, but have found that the truck is so heavy that it isn't necessary. However, I do put the sway control on.

As long as your receiver is rated for the weight carrying tongue weight, say 800lbs. You should be fine.

Only thing you would lack is sway control if the wdh had it. 75 miles...no problem. Nice that he has a friend to help him out :)

If the receiver will handle the tongue weight, you should be OK.

Well, my 2007 F-350 SRW has a Class IV receiver rated at 600 pounds weight carrying, which is probably the same one you have. You'll be putting about 800 pounds on yours. Your decision.
