Todays minivans are pretty stout tow vehicles. Most have payloads higher than 1/2 ton trucks, the Caravan is 1700lbs for example. Properly equipped they all have tow ratings of 3500lbs and several do not decrease that rating due to weight in the vehicle.
An 8-10' pup loaded will weigh less than 2500lbs and have less than 400lbs tongue weight. Even if the passengers weighed 1000lbs combined (which is a lot considering 4 of them are kids) they'd still have plenty of payload and tow rating remaining. Within the ratings it will tow fine.
It's a Chrysler minivan with the 3.8 motor. I felt as long as they keep the weight of everything under 3500# they should be fine.
