Purchasing an Arctic Fox

That's the bottom line. Unless there is one sitting on the lot they want to move, there is no need to deal.

Arctic Fox quality may be better than most, but certainly isn't what it was years ago. Quality control and workmanship is atrocious. I spent weeks going over our new 2016 Arctic Fox TT reworking and repairing factory defects before making our first camping trip. The deeper I looked, the more things I found to rework. :(

I am not alone according to some of the comments on the Arctic Fox forum. Northwood Mfg. appears to have taken the attitude: push them out the door, let the dealer and owner take care of our manufacturing defects. :?

After all that, I can say I am presently a "happy camper" with our Arctic Fox TT. :)

I talked with Apache at the Portland RV show but regarding fifth wheels. They didn't have the largest model on display because they didn't have one and production is sold out. I didn't put a calculator to them but it looked like their show prices were about 15% off. Some solace is you will be getting a quality trailer and you will recoup on the back end when you sell it.

That's a good point. Just as I was driving away with our new trailer, I told the salesman I'd be back in 10~12 years to trade it in. He said "Please do, we lose most of them to cragslist and rarely get a clean used unit on trade".
I guess they are very easy to sell.

We shopped for a couple of years, local dealers (within ~200 miles) not wanting to deal off MSRP at all for 27T. We found a used one a year old (husband had died after purchase). We got it at a good price.

Good luck 30% not happening

I just purchased a new Arctic Fox 32A in Oct and will take delivery sometime in 2018. From what I have been able to find out going back a couple of years the 32A has come off line April 2015 (2016) and again in Nov 2015(?) not again until June of 2016(2017) then again June 2017 (2018). The manufacture stated to me that the next run was around Feb/March 2018 but I also received a PM saying early Summer of 2018 so even though I purchased a 2018 it may actually be a 2019

They seem to be sold as soon as they hit the lot or they are ordered. There is one in Ohio and he was willing to deal, However I received a better deal closer to home and I liked the dealership. Finding a dealership that will give 30% from what I have found is nearly impossible but a reasonable discount can be had. I also had the dealership throw in a Hitch set up of our choice which I think we will be going with the Blue Ox sway pro. There are also some off the books upgrades and you would need if interested ask about. I also had a 2" receiver installed and the Alumaguard installed on the toppers along with the other upgrades that we picked.

I have always thought the 30% figure was wishful thinking.

Maybe not back on 2008 when the economy hit the skids but certainly in the last five years when the TT market sustained sales of 400,000+ units per year.

It is even less likely to happen with the higher end models. How much wheeling and dealing do you do when buying a Ferrari? :) :)
