OK, I have learned so much already - more so than the sales rep led us to believe. Thanks again. It looks like the limitation in looking at these is the 890# tongue weight that the VEHICLE can handle which factoring in the 13-15% range = 5930-6850# LOADED. Reading is telling us to factor about 400# of loaded stuff, with our 4 bikes we added another 200# to be safe bringing the total load allowance to 600#. So we are estimating the DRY WEIGHT weight needs to be around 5330 - 6250#, depending on water allowance, which we are not sure about.
I guess my question is if anywhere in that range acceptable or is it really best to stay to the more conservative side of 5930#? This is the driving factor of what we can look at so we need to get this right.
Several models all hover right in this range. I have seen the WhiteHawk, I also looked at the Keystone Bullet and Cougars and the Lance 2185 which we really liked! We would like the queen and 2 bunks (prefer doubles but not a deal breaker) and thought the Lance could utilize that ground level 3rd bunk for our two dogs which was really appealing but sacrificing on the double size bunks. Can anyone advise on models we should consider or comment on the numbers above. Thanks!
