thank you all for your help. I have had my membership one day and it is already paying off with all of your genuine responses full of great information - cant wait to be done with this research and out on the road!:)

up until a month ago I own a keystone passport 285 rl and I had very little problem with my passport, the only thing I had a small leak , and a problem with my microwave, so I like my keystone product.

I am also in the process of purchasing a TT. I had ordered the 3320BH but things went sour between me and RVwholesalers so I pulled out of the deal. It worked out because I got a chance to explore other brands. If you like that floor plan check out the Heartland Wilderness 3250BS and the North Trail 33BKSS. Pretty much the same but they have the bathrooms that have doors to the outside. They also have a much better outside kitchen and fridge. Lastly, they have the curved taller ceiling which makes the inside seem a lot roomier.

If you can live without the island kitchen there's also the North Trail 33buds. The kitchen sink covers sit flush with the counter so there's still a lot of counter space. My wife also likes the Jayco white hawk 32dhbs has sufficient counter space even without the island or flushed sink covers.

If it matters to you, it seems like the North Trail and the Jayco white hawk seem to have the only true walk on roof out of all the ultralites (I can be wrong).

After all the forum searching that I've done I've concluded that there's negative reviews for each brand but you'll also find many who really like that same brand and have had minimal problems.

I'm at the point now where I've found the floor plan that I like and it's just a matter of finding a reputable dealer close to me that carries it. That's the sucky part. The Jayco, Wilderness, North Trail, and even Keystone passport dealers close to me don't carry that floor plan so I have to order them or drive 600-1200 miles to pick one up.

Good luck! I can't wait to get one so I can go back to being a functioning member of society again :) My wife says she's ready to have her husband back. This trailer search has really consumed a lot of my time. Lol

We had a 2008 Keystone Springdale for 7 years and really put it to use. We traveled in it for 3 months straight, then lived in it for 8 months, plus of course standard weekend/week long trips. We blew a lot of tires along the way, but overall the trailer was amazing for us. We did have a few leak issues after a few years that were minor and mainly because I didn't do the proper maintenance over the years.

We just upgraded to a 2015 Keystone Premier and we love it. We just got it a couple months ago and have only taken it out twice, but so far everything is great. We toured the RV show in Tampa before deciding on the Premier. For us, it was the best layout, features, size and weight for our needs. After looking through almost every brand, there is just something about Keystone that appeals to me. not to mention that the trailer is absolutely beautiful!

You are going to find negative reviews for every brand. I agree a good dealer is a huge benefit as even the best of us can't possibly spot every weak spot on every new rv. Keystone isn't immune to sending out a stinker, but they also can turn out some nice units.

The thing about RVs is that, for the most part, a few companies make many brand names. So, when people complain about a certain company that company manufactured thousands of RVs - naturally the more RVs a company builds the more complaints they'll get. You won't hear from the customers that had positive experiences. The smaller manufactures will have fewer complaints than the larger manufacturers.

Most important thing is to find a good dealer that will help you work through any problems that may develop.

Keystone is no different than Forest River or other. They have many company under their name, some better than others. I have heard bad things about Forest River through the years but know they have good products as well.

X2. Finding a good dealer who can handle warranty claims is more important than the brand name IMHO.

Lucky4 - I went to Roaming Times review site and searched Passport - this is what I found. Not sure if it will help you, but regardless, review the unit at the dealership thoroughly and ask a lot of direct questions. I know you are at a disadvantage with this being your first TT. When we bought our first, we were completely unaware but were fortunate to have a good salesman. Try a local dealer with a good reputation, maybe go to another and ask them the same questions and compare. We did that even when purchasing our first fifth wheel and we've had this one now for 5 years and have been completely satisfied. Here's the Roaming Times RV Reviews.
