This is crazy. Everyone so quick to put down properly equipped tow rigs regardless of the ratings.
I would much rather see a 1/2 ton towing within its ratings with an experienced driver, even at max, than a 3/4-1 ton with an inexperienced driver and under weight.I have never seen a wreck caused by max ratings gone wrong with an experienced driver but I have seen tons of inexperienced truck/trailer/fifth wheel/truck camper/motorhome wrecks do to inexperience sitting in the drivers seat as I chopped out a living on the road in my semi's!
This is an example that just happened here within the week. Notice the 8 lugs that didn't keep him from this terror moment but no one was hurt and yes,the 3/4-1 ton didn't save him.
