Unfortunately too many with 3/4 and 1T trucks think theirs "can do anything", and in turn skimp on the hitch or worse, try to tow without a WD hitch..
Just like 4x4's in the snow. There not bullet proof.
The problem most ignore is the 3/4 ton is the most overloaded truck there is on the road today, from fifth wheels to pickup campers... Some say by as much as 75% of all 3/4 ton trucks pulling or hauling are over weight.
In the truck camper forum there is a topic about a 1 ton newer Dodge dually with Arctic Foxs smallest camper on it, the 8.6. A beautiful setup, love to have it but it's over weight. Ya,a dually one ton over weight with a 8ft+ camper. Doesn't look it in anyway but it is.
But the 1/2 gets the bashing pulling trailers within its rated ratings, near max....Go figure.
