Put money down on a livinlite 6.8.

Well I finally picked a camper. It's the livinlite 6.8. I will be picking it up Friday. At least that is the plan. Only problem is I don't want to put the old happijac on the new truck. I don't want to drill holes in my new ford. So I had to special order the torklift and they will not be in for a couple weeks. So I have some brophy tie downs on way Wednesday. I will just go real slow because I don't know how it will handle the 300 mile trip home.

Could do that. I called dealer and asked them they said they have sold the livinlite and the brophy. I just think it's weak, and not good for aluminum ford.

Your lucky that it is sold. The center of gravity would be way off if you placed the Livin Lite toward the rear, and cause handling problems. You would be much better off with a Four Wheeler Granby popup on your truck.
  • They don't make one lite enough for me. I'll be maxed out with this one.

That's a bummer, but why weren't you getting a long bed model?

  • What about nylon straps to the inside bed anchors? I don't trust the Brophy mounts on your bed.
  • I am still trying to decide if I will eventually have camper up close to front or to rear of truck. I have a long bed and camper is for short bed.
  • Ya tweettys had to call torklift to make sure they had one for my truck. But they did do all the legwork so I ordered from them. Said it will take a couple weeks to get. That's why the brophy.
  • Be sure to give us your shake down report. Pictures are good too. Hope you enjoy many, many camping trips.
  • Congratulations! Brophy should be ok for a short trip. Did you try TweetysRV?
