So, I have to ask, does this mean I should upgrade my SRW F350 FX4 to rims/tires greater than an E rating. I'm carrying a Lance 1010 and had a blowout on new tires and tires had the correct pressure in them. I chalked it up to a fluke since I through this question out to the Board a few months ago.
Well I thought I was fine with tires rated at 3750 until my blow out and I cat scaled the rig. The tires were carrying close to their maximum load rating. I made the jump to 19.5s and just got back from a 1600 mile road trip on them. Safety margin is so much greater, most road surfaces they handle better, some not, specifically heavy grooves. They were fine on forest service roads that were steep and damp. I could have gone for a wider profile, more agressive lug tire but for my use its really not necessary as a long bed crewcab diesel with a heavy camper is not going out for any serious off roading.
