Also, my experience is similar to Reddog's in that My F150 actually says payload is "with" a specific size and 33psi of tire.
Then when going further, on the Ford website that lists actual specification's for things like the Rear GAWR it also states it is calculated based on "the lowest capacity part" which in my case is the Springs or the Rims. RAWR is 3800 lbs on mine which is coincidentally the rating of the Factory springs at 1900 each. The next lowest part would be the rims at 2100lbs each.Ford wrote:
(3) Gross Axle Weight Rating is determined by the rated capacity of the minimum component of the axle system (axle, computer selected springs, wheels, tires) of a specific vehicle."
