Lastly, most diesel folks say they will never go back to gas, anyone want to weigh in on this?
Deb here - I have ALWAYS DESPISED DIESELS. Hated the sound and most of all - the smell makes me nauseous. But we bought a 5th wheel, and Ed tried to convince me we needed a diesel to pull it. He first came home with a 2008 F-250; and that had me hanging my head out the window like a dog, gasping for fresh air. Then he bought a 2012 F-350. Now granted, it was newer and uses DEF, but for the first time in my life, I actually enjoyed a diesel. OK - I'll admit it - I loved it! It was quiet and there was NO SMELL, not even standing next to the exhaust pipes. But it was a huge beast that didn't fit in the garage, so when we sold the 5er and a guy made us an offer on the diesel, we sold it, thinking we'd go back to a gasser for our puny little pop-up TC.
HUGE mistake, especially in mpg. We're now seeking a (newer) diesel again.
My son pulls a massive 38' horse-trailer-with-slideout-living-quarters with an '07 F-350 DRW and loves the truck. Has had no problems with it.
