I think you will love the new seat. When folded - you have good cupholders, phone slot and I love lower shelf that you can move up front when seat is not used for extra storage.
When we charge our phones from front USB, the floor cupholders hold them just fine.
I had passengers on my central seat only couple of times, but seem pretty comfortable for adult, so your young daughter should fit just fine.
