Knowing the way the Ford modular engine is I would strongly suggest to not even touch it. Just cut your losses now and run from anything that has a 5.4 or 4.6 in it ever again. With all the stupid **** that goes wrong with these things you can buy another truck for what you will spend on repairs on these things. exhaust manifolds, spark plugs shooting out or getting stuck and breaking off, and cam chain tensioners are all very common problems and not a single one are easy repairs and they all cost a small fortune to repair.
