I have a Lance TC and am looking at installing a GoPower 600W modified sine wave inverter that I have had for about a year, never installed. I want to be able to power small items like phone charger and Direct TV box. Maybe small 120v lamp while boondocking. I understand the limitations of a small 600W inverter.
Do I need to get a PSW inverter for these things? I looked into powering an electric blanket and found most need a PSW but I was not certain about the phone charger and DTV box (HR44 model)....
Those things should work, but don't forget they will be less efficient than psw if you intend to leave them on a lot.
There are a small number of (usually small) wall warts that can self destruct on msw I'm told, I've used dozens of them from cellphone to laptops with no issue other than they heat up a bit more (less efficient). As you have found with the electric blanket there are some types of switchjng controllers that hate MSW, I had a car battery charger that would just shut down in confusion on msw.
